DLS Biography For Michael Johnson a.k.a. DLS music has been a part of life for as long as he can remember. Born and raised in south Texas to a single Mother, Music was a constant companion. Music was there through lonely nights and idle days. It was Music that helped him express the joy and pain of first love. It was Music that helped him present the heartfelt and selfish sentiment of, “I will love you forever!” to his dying Mother. It was Music that kept him sane and eased his pain through her passing. Music is and always will be a part of who he is. After meeting Eddie J. Arnold in 1998, DLS found kindred spirits in the artist of Groove Town Production. Under Eddie’s guidance he helped to complete and promote an album with the rap group, ‘The Gatheruz’. The response to the album was great, however after two years of shows and struggle the members of ‘The Gatheruz went their separate ways to find success in their individual endeavors. Once again DLS was on his own with no one but Music to turn to. He took his rough but rhythmic sound and blended it with different artist around the country. From Galveston, TX to Los Angeles and back across to Virginia Beach, DLS has worked and performed with a lot of different artist. Whether it was with his friend, Robert ‘RPM’ Atkinson in a Hip-Hop duo or performing on soulful R&B/Jazz tracks with Unified Tribe, or supporting the team with his new family, The Clinic, DLS shares everything through his Music. “Music is life! You breathe it, you love it, you hate it, you want it, you share it, you hoard it! It’s what brings us together and tears us apart at the same time. We try to label it and own it but it keeps switching up on us! Music is in me. So I put everything that I am, everything that I know and see into it.” DLS You should know...
